All I know is I’m ready for war!

In just 10 days, Michael Barber will make his AFC debut when he battles Ivo Dos Santos. With the support of the entire Extreme MMA crew, and coming off a perfect training camp, Michael is confident he has what it takes to chalk up his debut AFC victory on September 12.

You’re preparing to make your debut on Australia’s #1 MMA Promotion – is it more excitement or nerves right now?

I’m just grateful for the opportunity.

For our fans who don’t know a lot about you, talk us through your MMA background?

I’ve fought MMA and kickboxing and love competing in freestyle and Greco wrestling and Jiu Jitsu comps. I love Martial Arts; I love competition.

Training out of one of Melbourne’s best MMA gyms; what sort of an impact have the fighters and coaches at Extreme MMA had on your development as a martial artist?

I have great people around me in and out of the ring. The coaches and training partners make me who I am as a fighter but in the end I’ve put in the hard work and cant wait to show it.

What sort of a training camp are you putting together for AFC 14?

All I’m saying is I’m the most prepared mentally, physically and spiritually I’ve ever been. Camp has been great.

Fighting Judo practitioner Ivo Dos Santos at AFC 14 – your thoughts on your opponent?

I respect any professional athlete and especially fighters. He is an Olympian and fighter and puts it on the line. I’m excited to face Ivo.

Ivo has been known to get into wild brawls which has cost him in the past – will this play into your hands come AFC 14?

I don’t care where the fight goes. I’m so prepared and anything can happen in the ring. I’m expecting the best Ivo and that’s what I’m prepared for.

Ultimately where do you see yourself winning this fight?

I don’t know and I can’t wait to see how I win. All I know is I’m ready for war!
